Dar Fur - The War for Water is a documentary film about the mission of Tomo Križnar, human rights activist and special envoy of the former Slovenian president, Dr. Janez Drnovška, to the forbidden areas of western Sudan, where the world's largest humanitarian disaster is currently taking place. This is the first film about Dar Fur, giving the rest of the world an insight into the mindset of the Darfur rebels and the events that took place there in 2006, and shows why the peace agreement between the Sudanese government and the self-proclaimed SLA vice president, Minni Minawi, was orchestrated by the US and was signed under the auspices of the African Union in Abuja, Nigeria, a political farce that continues to this day. The documentary argues that the war in Dar Fur is not only a war against marginalization and a rebellion against the greed of the Arab government. He offers strong arguments that the war began as a result of climate change that hit the Sahel at the end of the last millennium. Shocking footage and interviews testify that the clashes over a glass of water between African and Arab tribes in Dar Fur are being manipulated by foreign interests. The richest water sources in the Sahel are in the Jebel Marre mountains, where the Furies live.
