This is the documentary about one of the most prolific Slovenian writer.
In the focus of the story is the essence of Feri Lainšček’s creativity. It’s marked by his devotion to love, Pannonian landscape with Mura river and the close relations and friendship with Roma people that live there in their communities. All these lead to the interweaving of magic with the real world and constantly and persistently searching the answers to basic questions of existence.
Parts of the film are excerpts from the writer’s daily life connected with the writing poems about the demons. As Feri ask himself: where did the demons go and who touches that hot nudity? In this fantasy world the magic creatures of the night take the leading roles, as well as the fatal roulette and the loneliness of the writer.
The other parts of the film shows real life – like meetings with friends, daily life in his home garden, visiting the Roma community, fishing on the Mura river, walking along the large Pannonian fields, bringing back memories on his childhood.
The concert with the song writer and singer Ditka shows Feri’s intense cooperation with the young musician. Ditka performs the song Demons…which raise questions: are the demons defeated or the roulette turns on and on to provide creation of new art works…?
The documentary is the result of the strong creative team (scriptwriter Cvetka Bevc, director Primož Meško, DOP Andrej Lupinc).
