Matevž Šmon was born in Slovenj Gradac, where he attended primary and secondary school. He spent his youth playing handball in a team spirit, and was later included in the Slovenian national handball team. After finishing his studies in history, he did various jobs, and in recent years he has been part of the production on Pop TV. From an assistant in the beginning, he became a cameraman and now a director of various shows and video content.
