Kdor ne skače explores how Slovenians began to perceive themselves as a nation through sport, first through skiing and ski jumping, and later also through football. Through the personal story of the author, who moved from Bosnia to Slovenia, the film reveals how sporting successes became a foundation of national self-confidence, largely in contrast to a Yugoslav identity. Using archival footage, personal anecdotes, and social reflections, the film exposes how a nation is built through cheering, and what (and who) is left aside in the process. Kdor ne skače is a film about the rises and falls of national consciousness, about the power and danger of collective emotions, and about the question: what does it mean to be Slovenian today, and can sport still carry this burden?
