Jurij Gruden was born in Trieste. In 2004, he graduated from AGRFT in Ljubljana, majoring in film and television directing. He is a screenwriter and director of documentary films: Melania (2022), Sparks in Time (2021), Cup of Coffee (2016), Living Stone (2014), Music from Trieste to Trbiž (2010), At the End of Tržaška (2010), Glasnik slovenska brežina (2008), Edi Šelhaus: I was there (2007).
