Born in 1978 in Ljubljana, director Petra Seliškar has traversed various countries before returning to Slovenia in 2012. She pursued film directing at the Academy of Film and Television in Amsterdam, followed by advanced studies in directing and production at the Northern Media School in Sheffield, England, earning a master's degree in film production and directing in 2001. In 2003, she co-founded Petra Pan Film with Brando Ferra, focusing on creative documentaries and interactive and experimental feature films.

Over the last decade, Seliškar has been actively involved in the international documentary film scene as a director, producer, consultant, lecturer, juror at 10 international festivals, and selector for the Makedox documentary film festival. In 2010, she established the Makedox festival of creative documentary film, where she serves as the artistic director. Petra Pan Film's productions have garnered acclaim, receiving numerous international awards, screenings at major festivals, and exposure on various platforms, including television and VOD services, as well as in European cinemas. Seliškar is a member of the European Film Academy (EFA) and the Documentary Association of Europe (DAE).
