The documentary film Binding Memories explores the border area of Benečija, the Nadiška valleys and Upper Posočje, which has always been defined by the border and has managed to preserve its unique identity despite rough historical upheavals. The border that cut into this space after 1947 was particularly grim and iron in these parts. Today, in both countries, this space is more or less empty, but with an indestructible desire to live. In order to live again fully and in all his wealth, he must sew together the memories that were once violently torn. In conversations with the locals, we discover the stories and fates of people who have persisted in their homes or are returning to them today. A new historical moment opens borders and suggests new forms of immigration and living in a common space.
