The music video for Khanta was created during a month-long stay in New York and Minneapolis. Everything seen in the video is real and was captured documentary-style on the streets of America: faces, advertising, police, poverty, spectacle, excess and the emptiness of the contemporary Western world. More than eight hours of footage were condensed into an intensely dynamic collage of 412 shots, edited to the rhythm of the song and reflecting today’s endless scrolling culture, where one image replaces another before it can fully register. Rather than portraying America as something distant, the video presents it as a mirror of a world moving faster than we are able to understand. Khanta is about something that is already among us: in our phones, desires, anger, exhaustion and everyday lives.
