Soča has always been a border river. In its relatively short riverbed, it connects two completely different landscapes, the Alps and the Mediterranean. And it really seems like she's made up of two personalities. He also has two names. Soča is a woman. Isonzo is a man. Soča is the water of contradictions; alluring and dangerous, known for her emerald color and bloody front. In these places, the First World War not only destroyed lives, villages and fields, but also the attitude that people of that time had towards nature. The survivors had to start from scratch and it seems we still live in this hastily made world today. Meetings along the Soča River reveal the contradictions we live today in relation to nature. Compared to the life of the river, human life seems insignificant and yet man today can interfere with the laws of nature. At a time when political borders are being removed, we must know how to set borders ourselves in relation to our common river.
