On September 15, 2023, the second day of the festival kicks off with the "Dokumentarnica 2022-2023" educational lab. This initiative, organized by the Directors Guild of Slovenia and supported by the Slovenian Film Centre, is led by mentors Matjaž Ivanišin, Rok Biček, and Petra Seliškar. It begins with presentations by last year's workshop participants, showcasing the progress of their projects. All participants will also have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the DOKUDOC film programme as part of the workshop experience. The workshop is scheduled for Saturday, September 16, 2023, and Sunday, September 17, 2023, and is exclusively for pre-selected participants.
We continue at 8 p.m. in the Maribor Puppet Theatre. In the"DOKU NOW section, we will screen the short documentary "Maribor Retrosk8tiva"/Maribor Retrosk8tive," directed by Tomaž Praunseis. Following that, in collaboration with the Embassy of the Czech Republic in the Republic of Slovenia, we present the "DOKU MULTIKULTI" section, featuring the Czech film "Happily Ever After"/"Šťastně až na věky," directed by Jana Počtová, who will be joining us from Prague. This film was the recipient of the 2022 audience prize and the 2022 student jury prize at the Jihlava International Documentary Film Festival. After the screenings, we welcome you to engage in discussions with the directors. Tickets for both films are available for 5 EUR at the Maribor Puppet Theater box office.
On Saturday morning, our festival programming resumes with "Dokumentarnica", and in the evening, we are excited to present the Slovenian pre-premiere of "Woman of God," directed by Maja Prettner. The night's festivities continue with the "Psy Trance Party: Trance Only Dark Forest Magic," starting at 10 p.m. in the Gustaf Hall at KC Pekarna.
