In September 18, Maribox will screen a documentary film titled Nikola Tesla: Waves of the Future (2024), directed by Janja Glogovac.
This documentary offers an in-depth look at the life and legacy of Nikola Tesla, the visionary inventor whose groundbreaking work in electricity and wireless communication has been underappreciated in mainstream history. Although Tesla was a contemporary of the well-known Thomas Edison and enjoyed significant fame during his lifetime, he has been largely overshadowed in popular narratives. His many innovations, which include the development of alternating current, the Tesla coil, and early wireless power transmission, gained renewed attention with the rise of the automobile company that now bears his name.
The documentary also sheds light on the intense rivalry between Tesla and Edison, examining the factors that led to their eventual decline in both reputation and influence within the scientific community.
This screening is a pre-event of the Dokudoc festival and is being held in collaboration with 3 VOX.
