For the 15th edition of the DOKUDOC Festival, its visual identity is built around the tension between silence and testimony. Its starting point is the situation in Iran, where the stories of individuals remind us how quickly violence, control, and restrictions on freedom can become part of everyday life. But testimony is not merely an interruption of silence. It is an act that allows us to see, understand, and become aware. And once we truly know something, it also calls upon us to respond. This year’s DOKUDOC Festival invites us to reflect on the power of documentary film and its mission to see, listen, and preserve stories that might otherwise remain unseen and unheard.
