It was my last night with sound, I woke up deaf in the morning, says one of the protagonists in a story that goes beyond the high walls of the former deafhouse. Deaf people speak about life without sounds, loss of hearing …
Deafness is invisible. Deaf people are the invisible disabled. In addition, they are incapable of communication. That’s why deafness has recently been considered a mental illness, and deaf people have also been officially labeled as “imbeciles”. Movement or speaking with the help of hands was prohibited.
Their shocking life stories are often associated with even more shocking stories of their children, servants in the service of the lives of deaf parents.
The shrieks of the deaf and their forgotten stories, through a story, interwoven with silence, their children’s never before said stories.
This film is co-financed by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Slovenia.
