Gabrijela Rechbach-Žegarac, born at Krumperk Castle near Domžale, spent her later years with the Sadnikarje family in Kamnik. Recalling her youth, she emphasized her lineage, particularly her great-grandfather Friderich Rechbach, who served as the district head in Novi Mesto. Proudly tracing her ancestry, she highlighted connections with the Scheuchenstuhls through Countess Marija Ana Strassolda Viljem.
Educated in Vienna, Gabrijela initially had governesses but later assumed the role herself, caring for children at Beinof near Novem mesto. Despite a strict mother, she experienced love multiple times and eventually married a man she met at Kalamegdan. They relocated to Sremska Mitrovica, where illness struck. Returning to Slovenia, she lived with her brother in Zaprice.
During World War II, Krumperk Castle fell into disrepair due to a German military outpost. Post-war, it became property of the JNA, serving as a convalescent home for officers until 1953. Three decades later, Gabrijela observed with sadness as some rooms stored oats and grain for nearby stables, while others housed workers' families maintaining the estate.
