Soča je bila vedno mejna reka. V svoji razmeroma kratki strugi povezuje dve popolnoma različni pokrajini, Alpe in Mediteran. In res se zdi, kot da je sestavljena iz dveh osebnosti. Ima tudi dve imeni. Soča je ženska. Isonzo je moški. Soča je voda protislovij; privlačna in nevarna, znana po smaragdni barvi in krvavi fronti. Prva svetovna vojna v teh krajih ni uničila le življenj, vasi in polj, ampak tudi odnos, ki ga je tedanji človek gojil do narave. Preživeli so moral začeti iz niča in zdi se, da danes še vedno živimo v tem na hitro sklepanem svetu.
Srečanja ob Soči razkrivajo protislovja, ki jih danes živimo v odnosu do narave. V primerjavi z življenjem reke, se človeško življenje zdi nepomembno in vendar človek danes lahko posega v zakone narave. V času, ko se odpravljajo politične meje, si moramo v odnosu do naše skupne reke, meje znati postavljati sami.
Tako reka kot film se v svojem bistvu povezujeta s pojmom minevanja. Čas reke in čas filma je hkrati bežeč in statičen. Nikoli ne moremo dvakrat stopiti v isti film, čeprav ga lahko ustavimo in zavrtimo nazaj. Edini možni čas tako reke kot filma je nenehna sedanjost. - Anja Medved

Nadja Velušček in Anja Medved, mati in hči, sta avtorski tandem, ki vrsto let ustvarja na področju dokumentarnega filma. Anja je diplomirana gledališka režiserka. Nadja je nekdanja profesorica italijanskega in slovenskega jezika. Ustvarili sta obsežen filmski opus, ki raziskuje razdeljene spomine obmejnega prostora ter jih šiva v skupne filmske pripovedi. Živita na Goriškem, kjer ustvarjata v okviru Zavoda KINOkašča / CINEMattic - filmske produkcije in hranilnice spomina.
SYNOPSYS:
The documentary film Sešivalnica Spomina - Ricuciture di memorie explores the border area of Benečija, the Nadiška valleys and Upper Posočje, which has always been defined by the border and has managed to preserve its unique identity despite rough historical upheavals. The border that cut into this space after 1947 was particularly grim and iron in these parts. Today, in both countries, this space is more or less empty, but with an indestructible desire to live. In order to live again fully and in all his wealth, he must sew together the memories that were once violently torn. In conversations with the locals, we discover the stories and fates of people who have persisted in their homes or are returning to them today. A new historical moment opens borders and suggests new forms of immigration and living in a common space.

Nadja Velušček and Anja Medved, mother and daughter, are an author tandem that has been working in the field of documentary film for many years. Anja is a graduated theater director. Nadja is a former professor of Italian and Slovenian languages. They created an extensive film opus that explores the divided memories of the border area and sews them into common film narratives. They live in Goriško, where they create within the framework of the KINOkašča Institute / CINEMattic - film production and memory bank.
